Platform Engineer
Where PHP meets pipelines: Seeking a Platform Engineer who loves both.
At Dyflexis we tackle the most common problems faced by businesses with ease. Time tracking, shift swapping, scheduling, clocking, two-way communication - we’ve got it covered. Our workforce management platform lays the groundwork for a successful hybrid workforce, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time. Simply put, we're building a super smart solution that businesses need and employees love.
Ready to wear both the developer and DevOps hats in a growing and talented team? Join us in our mission to empower workers worldwide!
At Dyflexis, we're blurring the lines between our developers and DevOps. We’re hoping to achieve self-service for our 6 development teams, but we’re not there yet. As our Platform Engineer, your expertise is needed to introduce new and maintain existing frameworks, tools, libraries and processes to raise the maturity of DevOps in the teams. Reporting to the Lead DevOps Engineer (you can call him Joeri), you'll be playing a pivotal role within a team that focuses on productivity and innovation.
The developers are your customers - your focus is to work on the stack so that it fits their requirements. To break it down:
- You will be on GitLab pipelines and PHP libraries.
- Take on challenges of regular DevOps work inside of the platform team.
- You might also be asked to work directly in collaboration with the product teams on exciting new features from time to time.
About our stack
Here is our stack and where we would love for you to provide value:
- The code is hosted in a monorepo in GitLab and deployed with GitLab CI/CD.
- The backend is written in PHP with Symfony as the framework of choice.
- The frontend makes use of Vue.js and Capacitor combined with Cordova for the mobile apps.
- You will package and ship software using Docker containers.
- You will work with Ansible and Terraform for our Infrastructure as Code.
- You can utilize and deploy Kubernetes clusters for dynamic environments.
- We deploy in the cloud, using Scaleway as our cloud provider.
- You might need to SSH into a Unix-machine & show off your skills from time to time.
- There is a large-scale MySQL cluster deployment with ±4500 databases for you to interface with.
What you need to succeed:
The setting is challenging: 800k users depend on our platform, so stability and scalability must go hand in hand. Moreover, we want to improve the framework, increase robustness, and optimize many features concurrently, including authorization, routing, and component interaction. Granted, this is a challenging role, but the payoff is greater still. If you succeed, you will not only improve the way we approach development and DevOps, but also positively impact the experience of 800k users (and growing) across the globe.
Your track record shows:
- You have held senior positions as a PHP developer and/or DevOps Engineer.
- You’ve got a solid grasp of Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI.
- You’re proactive, taking charge of projects from start to finish.
- You’re metric driven and have an eye for detail.
- Your English is solid—because clear communication keeps the team in sync!
What we offer you in return:
- Fixed salary up to €5.5K gross per month based on a 40-hour week (skill based).
- 25 paid vacation days, 8% holiday pay and you're off on our birthday.
- Pension and education budget for everyone.
- The best parties, drinks, outings, and weekend trips (Bonjour Ardennes)!
- The coolest workplace with a pool table, golf course and massages on Friday.
- Our very own private chef who treats you to a fresh lunch every day.
- Free subscription to 'ARJ Trainingen' boxing gym.
- The option to sell or purchase additional vacation days.
- Travel allowance and work-at-home-allowance.
- Flexible working hours and locations: for us hybrid working is here to stay.
